Suit Up 4 Life- founded by Fresh Start Community Services in 2010 which helps men who are displaced workers, working class poor, homeless and ex-offenders along the path toward self-sufficiency by providing professional attire, a network of support and professional career development tools.
Suit Up 4 Life’s philosophy is “A Hand Up Not a Handout.”
Referred participant is meet by a trained reentry specialist that will begin an assessment that will identify needs and resources tailored to that individual. The specialist will then began the employ-ability review, review/or develop a resume, evaluate job application skillfulness, coach the participant on job search, identify potential barriers to the upcoming interview with mock disclosure dialogue, review the work environment/culture in which the interview will take place and offer specific and concrete tools to overcome potential obstacles in securing gainful employment.
Our Professional Development Series, PDS, assists men in creating an innovative, in-depth series of interactive career, workplace and motivational program.They include rich, in-depth resources, plans, maps, goals, and tools that participants keep, that never expire, and that evolve with them as they advance in life. PDS promotes clients participation, responsibility and a vehicle of support to achieve our goals. We guide them through as we break barriers for displaced workers, ex-offenders and working class poor through PDS. Change starts with us men.
Suit Up 4 Life programs and services are dedicated to eliminating the need for public assistance and to promoting lasting, self-sufficiency for the entire family. We provide three resources for change and put those resources into the hands of our men.Success within the PDS is determined through the reporting from “Take control of your life self-assessment quizzes” which are administered to all participants on a six month cycle as well as personal testimonials and interactions.
